CARs Knees

CARs are Controlled Articular Rotations. I like to think of it as keeping the joints oiled. Daily if possible take the time to move each joint slowly and carefully through their full range of motion.

This is for the knees of course as we are spending time nurturing our knees this month. Often knee issues are because of tight muscles that attach around or cross over the knee joint. So by mobilising, releasing tension we can allow the patella to rest in it’s own space. The patella is a bone that is easily pulled out of it’s proper place resulting in ligaments rubbing against the bone causing the pain and inflammation of this area. Ouchy, ouch.

Once we have released the tension we can look at creating strong muscles around the knee to support it – couple this with proper lifting and walking and those knees will last us a lifetime.

This mobilising activity can form a nice benchmark so you can see how your work improves your knee mobility.

Remember to take it gently start where you are and don’t over do it x
