Remember the sense of excitement you experienced when playing as a child? Crawling up hills, running through grass, hanging from branches and dancing without fear of what you looked like?

Join us at the beautiful Otley Hall for a day of play, dance and exploration, as we rediscover what your body is capable of and give you time, space and support to tap into your body’s power and potential.

Our busy, modern lives mean we often don’t give ourselves the opportunity to play, enjoy our bodies and have fun without an end ‘goal’ in mind. This means we can miss out on discovering what our physical bodies are capable of – it’s so much more than the average day-to-day of our modern lives often gives the opportunity to express.

Otley Hall is a 16th century moated hall set in 10 acres of gardens. It has a beautiful blend of wild and cultivated terrain including a canal, moat walk, nutteries, knot garden and labyrinth. There are numerous benches where you can sit and enjoy the peace, the beauty and observe the wildlife and resident peacocks. Uncover these hidden gems,, whilst allowing your inner child’s sense of fun and wonder to run free!

Your hosts for the day are:

Emma Lisa Davis – “For me, dancing is about freedom, expression and play. Although I enjoy learning new techniques and trying to master them, the real joy, for me, is when you let all of that go and just move in a way that feels fun and brings you pleasure.

There’s something about moving to music that I find is like magic; a short cut to dropping into moving more intuitively and also connecting with others.”

Emma started facilitating dance sessions two years ago, leading burlesque dance classes, and has since become a Groove facilitator. You can find out more about Groove at

Rosie Dhoopun – “For me natural movement has helped me heal my chronic back and knee pain. It has helped me enjoy being in my body and daring to discover what I can do, enjoying playing and moving with my children – and by myself!”

Rosie started exploring natural movement about 9 years ago, finding how benefical it was during two pregnancies and in reducing her aches and pains she started running natural movement classes 2 years ago. You can find out more about her classes at

The retreat will run 10am – 4pm and lunch will be included

The programme will include:
• Guided natural movement session
• “Groove” and dance sessions
• Lunch and refreshments
• Opportunities for rest and relaxation
• Opportunities to explore the grounds of Otley Hall through both guided sessions or in your own way
